SPACE COLONY IN 2022

Can we produce art in a factory? My project will explore if a mechanized process used to create objects can be translated to create art (architecture/design) that represents the original intention of the author (architect/designer) and is the reflection of local culture within a city. I will challenge the juxtaposition behind a factory model of mass production and the singular originality of a work of art.  Technology advancement transformed art and popular culture with innovations such as radio, photography, video, and digitalized communication. It also provides a tool for artists to augment their abilities. My project will therefore aim to create opportunities to develop art parallel with technological advancement.

I will be doing so by deconstructing elements of a factory and destroying their linear composition of them to enable a more interactive process of their use. To research further on the device and space that contribute to production and design.
